A native New Yorker, 21-year-old Jamie-Lynn Sigler currently stars in "Campfire Stories", and is best known as Meadow Soprano in "The Sopranos." "Meadow is incredibly smart, but she has a hard time communicating her feelings. She never lets her guard down; just like Tony, she thinks that she has to be tough," says Sigler. "That's how we differ the most. I'm a lot more emotional, and I like sharing my life with friends and family."

Sigler has plenty to talk about these days. Beyond Sopranos, she is publishing her revealing autobiography, Wise Girl (Pocket Books) this August. In addition Sigler will star as Belle in Disney's Broadway production of "Beauty and the Beast" in the fall of 2002. Having recently completed her first feature film, "Extreme Dating," she will be shooting her next film "Goddess" in the summer of 2002. "I always have a lot going on," says Sigler. "That's because I always want to be challenging myself."

Born with a passion to perform, Sigler has been acting and singing since the age of 7. She got her start in New York regional theater; and has since starred in over two dozen theatrical productions including "Annie," "The Wizard of Oz," "The Sound of Music," "The Wiz," and "The Diary of Anne Frank." Last summer, Sigler made her Broadway debut in Rodger's and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," playing the lead opposite Eartha Kitt as her fairy godmother.

Sigler, who battled with an eating disorder in the late 1990's while starring on "The Sopranos," is now a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association (www.nationaleatingdisorders.org) She explains, "I went public with my eating disorder because I wanted to make something good come of this terrible episode in my life. I want to reach young girls and let them know that there is way out; there is help available. No one should have to suffer in silence."
